Hearty Lebanese Potato and Lamb stew recipe is full of juicy lamb, chopped carrots, tender potatoes and a thick broth.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 2 large potatoes, cut into cubes
  • 2 2 large carrots, sliced
  • 3 500g lamb stew meat cubes
  • 4 4 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 5 1 large white onion, diced
  • 6 1 bunch fresh coriander, finely chopped,
  • 7 1 tsp allspice
  • 8 Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 9 1 green chili, chopped
  • 10 1 tsp cumin powder
  • 11 Water

DIRECTIONS

  • 1 In a pot, saute the onion and garlic until cooked.
  • 2 Put lamb meat until golden brown on high heat.
  • 3 Add potatoes and carrots and mix thoroughly until fork goes right in and they are tender.
  • 4 Add water and boil for 30 minutes.
  • 5 Serve hot and garnish with chopped coriander.

TIPS

Eat with or without rice.

HEALTHIER VERSION

This dish can be prepared with Beef meat instead of Lamb to make it healthier and lower in Fat and in Saturated Fat.
